Brigitte Lin (Lin Ching Hsia) was born in Taivan in 1954.  She is one of Asian Cinema's greatest leading actresses. Currently retired, and living in San Francisco USA, she has starred on the big screen for over twenty years in action, comedy and romantic features.

It wasn't until later in Lin's career that she achieved legendary status as HK's premiere swordsman (literally). Her role as "Asia the Invincible" in Ching Siu-Tung's 'Swordsman II' with Jet Li, Rosamund Kwan & Michelle Reis (all-star cast!) propelled her into International superstardom. She developed a very powerful screen presence, which led to future action roles in 'The Bride with White Hair', 'Dragon Inn', 'Deadful Melody', 'Fire Dragon', 'Handsome Siblings'. 

A powerful screen fighter and wonderful actress, she ended her film career with two great films from director Wong Kar Wai. 'Ashes of Time' the swordsplay epic with Leslie Cheung and 'Chungking Express' an art house classic. It is rumored that Lin may return to acting later this year for a HK production. She has been quoted as saying she would return for the right part. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
